The launching ceremony of a series of cultural events in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture for the coming Spring Festival was held in the Century Square of Jishou City on January 24.
At the event site, people guessed lantern riddles and appreciated intangible cultural heritage pictures as well as folk New Year paintings. Calligraphers wrote Spring Festival couplets, and hundreds of children depicted the beautiful Xiangxi with their colorful pens.
The series of cultural events are splendid and colorful, such as celebrating the lunar Chinese New Year in libraries and museums, the Spring Festival “Village Gala”, the Xiangxi original song concert, the excellent folk culture and art exhibition, the 3rd “Pinglang Tofu” cultural festival, and the Xiangxi Spring Festival Guqin Concert.
